About Fremont

The City of Fremont is the fourth largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area with a population of over 234,000 residents. Spanning 90 square miles, it is the southernmost city in Alameda County,  located in Silicon Valley. Within its borders, there are five historic districts; Centerville, Irvington, Mission San Jose, Niles, and Warm Springs.

Fremont has experienced significant growth within the past few years, driven by increased housing demand and the strength of the Silicon Valley economy, which has resulted in more urban-scale development in specific areas of the city, including Downtown and Warm Springs. Fremont also has a growing industrial base and has emerged as a leader in advanced manufacturing, clean technology, and life sciences. With its moderate climate and its proximity to major universities, shopping areas, recreation and cultural activities, employment centers, major airports, and the Bay Area Rapid Transit system, Fremont captures metropolitan living at its best.

With its proximity to other Silicon Valley cities, Fremont's population spikes to over 246,000 in the day as people commute into the city for  work or to explore its vast array of outdoor parks on the weekends. The residential population in Fremont is evenly split male/female, with a median age of 37, and household income of $122,191. Over half of the population has college degrees, with 55% holding a bachelor’s or higher. Fremont is an ideal place to live, work, and visit.
