Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC)

The Fremont Fire Department, in partnership with California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (Cal-JAC), utilizes the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) for the selection process. All candidates MUST have a completed profile and be placed on the Statewide Eligibility List (SEL) to be considered for the positions of Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic. 

To be placed on the SEL, candidates must complete the following (in no particular order):

  • Create an Account with FCTC
  • Pass the Written Exam
  • Pass the Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT)
  • Upload Required Documentation 
  • Meet All Other Eligibility Requirements for SEL
