Designed to strengthen and train your knowledge, skills and abilities, the Fremont Fire Recruit Academy is a comprehensive and intensive academic and physical curriculum that covers a variety of fire service skills and knowledge. All recruits of the program have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including fire engines, ladder trucks and specialty rigs, and experience a 48/96 work schedule at 11 fire houses upon completion of the fire academy.
After graduation, Fire Recruits are assigned to a Fremont fire station for a probationary two-year period. The next Fire Recruit Academy is anticipated to begin in 2021. An orientation is held approximately one week before the start of the Academy. All training is paid and lasts approximately 16-20 weeks.
