The Work Experience Program (WEX) program is for students who have completed a Firefighter 1 (FF1) academy and have a current EMT card.  You will be assigned to a fire company within the Fremont Fire Department.  You will be allowed to do ride-alongs and perform tasks on incidents at the discretion of the Company Officer.  You can take part in single company and multi-company training drills.  You will gain valuable knowledge of the Fremont Fire Department and the fire service to help pursue your dream career. 

Requirements

• Successfully passed a state certified FF1 academy
• Have a current EMT-B or EMT-P card/license
• Enrolled in Fire Technology 95 & 96 at Chabot College
